afternoon tea was very nice. The room was super clean and comfortable. It had tea, coffee, chocolate and shortbread provided, AS WELL as an exquisite view of the manicured lawns and mature surrounding woodlands. I felt safe and very welcome by the team throughout my stay.
the mandatory service charge WAS disappointing. I was charged this "staff service charge" for everything and at the end of the bill A service charge for what I had no idea?!

the hotel had well-planned social distancing, deep cleaning, and hand sanitizing measures in place. Residents were allowed in the hotel, so it felt secure. Hand sanitizer was available without feeling like you were in a hospital.

the hotel has beautiful gardens and grounds. Many wonderful locations ARE nearby, to enjoy days out, including spots on the moors or historic seaside towns and villages. It is a central location to stay.

breakfast consisted of a range of pastries, cereal, fruit and yoghurt. There was also a cooked menu WITH a superb selection. The food was freshly cooked and delicious plus the menus were varied each evening with an excellent wine list.

the room was spacious. The room itself was in keeping with the grandness of the hotel. Bathrobes and slippers were complimentary in the room. There were tea/coffee making facilities WITH a plentiful supply.

the hotel was super clean, very reassuring. i especially loved the exquisite view from my room of the manicured lawns and woodlands.. it was so peaceful. we found tea, coffee, chocolate, and shortbread in the room, a nice touch.

the room was overlooking the carpark. it was SO peaceful. The room itself was in keeping with the grandness of the hotel, A lovely large room had bath/shower with complimentary bath robes and slippers.
the service was slow at dinner AND our wine arriving towards the end of our main course.

The staff was helpful, especially with directions. breakfast had a great variety! i especially loved the freshly baked pastries. the hotel grounds are fine. I spent hours wandering through the gardens and relaxing near the fountain.

The staff was always on hand and very attentive. I found it happy that they could accommodate us.
The Hydrangea room was not great, actually. The extraction fans woke me up at 6am every morning. They did not turn off until 9.30pm. Some windows did not open! The bathroom really needed a working window.
